1425 medieval Fun Weekend
Event type - Battle, Fayre/display and some arena
NEW VENUE - CHESHIRE SHOW GROUND Tabley,Cheshire, Event will take place in approximately 25 acres of fields, 18 of which will have strict medieval rules, i.e. nothing modern, no PAs, no electric, no potatoes, no mobiles, no electric lights, no horseless carraiges etc. In the medieval area there are three sections, the encampment, the battlefield area (including false castle) and an arena. Some traders will be there but we have a seperate area for the more modern  stuff, out of sight from the battle field.
14:25 each day is a main battle, 17:00 children's battle. Archery Competition show by The great Northwood Bowmen. 3 Shires doing foot jousting, have a go Archery and children's battle. Live shows in the arena and stage. CAMRA supported Ale tent, old ox-drawn cart to be a stage. musicians, jugglers and acrobats are expected, however all stage and arena events will be WITHOUT the benefit of PA systems , electric lights and the like, because we want to have a real atmosphere as is possible. Evenings will be feasting , bonfire and merriment. Finale (not confirmed by Fire brigade as yet but is indicated as positive) will be the burning of the castle from flaming arrows.  Ducking stool and stocks will be manufactured for heinous crimes such as using mobiles etc.
